Effect of Fiber Content and Silane Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of Recycled Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Fiber Composites

The aim of the present study was to investigate effects fiber content and then silane treatment on mechanical performance natural composites recycled acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS) provided by automotive sector. Wood palmyra fibers were used as fillers in 10% 20% composites. treated with N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane improve interfacial adhesion between polymer matrices. properties determined tensile impact tests. Morphological analysis later performed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). According experiment results, strength both wood increase after treatment. However, for low-wood-fiber-content composite, decrease due presence an excess amount relative content. addition significantly improved modulus composite material further increases slightly Finally, SEM shows homogenous mix matrices fewer voids treatment, thereby improving adhesion.
